Disembraining Machine - 1st November 2009

Last night's show was ok. We played a loose set and weren't as uh... "thrashy" as usual. Sebastian and I talked about printing 20 or so copies of the recording (if we don't sound too shit) and burying them in the garden for people to find in the future. Or maybe we'll sell them. Who knows?

Matt Kennedy, a man that I met standing on the floor in the kitchen of Alchemix (oh wow, I'm lame), filmed our set. It's on his blog which I had no idea existed, but looks good. Real good.. Check it out if you haven't already: eternalsoundcheck.blogspot.com
Here's the video, (cheers Matt):

Also, tapes finally arrived to day. I will do a run of 50 within the next week hopefully. Probably $5ppd, might organize paypal, but not likely. House show coming weekend. Need to make a flyer, though my art teacher would advise I stay away from even trying such silly things.

Saturday, 7th Nov w/ Swamplords, Loose Grip & More

This is a house show. It's in Landsborough on Saturday, the 7th of November. 7PM onwards with music provided by:

The Swamplords (Surfffff)
The Seizures (Gay Punk)
Loose Grip (Loose Punk)
Bad Taste (Silly Mosh)
& More TBA (maybe)

If you are interested in coming, message our MySpace or email jackson.perrott@hotmail.com and I will get back to you with necessary details. If anybody wants to help out, feel free. This is the first of hopefully a long line of house/local hall shows featuring bands that wouldn't usually get shows in the sun obsessed hell hole in which we live.

Demo & Shows - Update

So I ordered 100 tapes for the Seizures demo this afternoon (which has been sitting around for a year this month...) The songs on the demo are fairly different from the sort of music we play now, but I want to get this released it accurately captured what this merry band of losers were like at the time; noisy and retarded. It was recorded on a video camera (but you could have probably guessed that much), and the second track was featured on the Negative Guest List Compilation, "Songs of Negativity" a while ago. Only four tracks; 9 minutes and 26 seconds. Will do a run of fifty, and it will probably hit the streets in the next 2-3 weeks, as I need to do the dubbing and sleeve printing all by my lonesome. Not sure on a cover yet, but I know for sure that I won't be designing it.

Daniels Shed, 26/09/09 with Badtaste

Here's a snapshot of a last minute show put on by ex-bassist and old friend Daniel. It's nice to have photo's of things you have limited recollection of. Few people came but those who did, thanks for the violent memories. Hopefully more house-shows-in-small-towns-that-three-people-not-involved-in-the-bands-playing-attend to come in the future, and hopefully we will play more than 4 songs (and have working equipment) for the next one. Not likely though. Dig 'Bas and Jakes threads?

Friday, 25th Sep w/ Royal Headache, Slug Guts, Bed Wettin' Bad Boys & Kitchen's Floor

Hopefully we won't be kicked out after we play, seeing as we are all virgin teenagers... Thanks Jimi for hooking us up with yet another mind blowingly cool show. Also, I have emailed this company to order tapes for our very old demo three times and still no reply... Arseholes.

The Seizures

We are a band. We go to school at BSHS. We play music that is sometimes fast, sometimes slow, sometimes loud, sometimes soft, sometimes angry, sometimes not. I hope that gives you an idea.

We have been around for about 14 months now. I think. We started off as a fucked up garage punk band, now we just rip off Flipper. We do try to be original, but living on the Sunshine Coast has rotted our brains. We haven't played many shows during our existence, due to the lack of interest in our local area, and the lack of all ages shows that don't suck in Brisbane. Our first legit show was with the Stabs, Slug Guts and Deaf Wish, which was cool because those bands are part of the very elite group of Australian bands that do their own thing and don't suck. That show was 18+ and at Rosie's, which did suck.

We've had one lineup change, when bassist Daniel H. quit early 2009. We now have Jake. This probably means a lot to you, I'm sure. At the moment I am working on getting a tape printed of a demo we recorded late last year, of songs that we either don't play anymore or we now just suck at playing. The tape is live and has four tracks. It was originally called 'Songs About Seizuring', with a Big Black rip off cover, but we aren't a joke/gimmick band (are we?) and only one CD with that cover was printed. The tape will be self titled and it goes for roughly 11 minutes. It will be available at shows fairly soon.

We practice and write a lot of music, but unfortunately we are lazy/inexperienced when it comes to releasing anything. Hopefully within the next few months we can get a few things out. Most things will be on tape, because vinyl is too expensive for a band that is 1/4 employed. If you want us to play a show, or if you want to order our tape when it's done, or if you want to send your bands demo or your zine, or maybe you just want a nice chat? Email: jackson.perrott@hotmail.com and I will make your dreams come true. Here are some posters from previous shows.

We have a show on the 14th of August with The Insurgents and Cult Minds (Melb). It's at Legions Hall in the Valley. Licensed and AA. Will upload poster when I find it.
